Two Arrests Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
